As a fully accredited member of both the Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), I am bound by their Code of Ethics and Practice in all aspects of my work with you.

This means your welfare and interests come first, always. Confidentiality is central to the work, with only narrow, clearly defined legal exceptions. I bring integrity, impartiality, and respect to every person who comes to see me, regardless of background. I work only within the limits of my training and competence, and remain in ongoing clinical supervision throughout my practice. Furthermore, I am continuously engaged in my own professional development.

My accreditation with APPI required four years of postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, including a Master’s qualification, alongside my own extensive personal psychoanalysis — reflecting the profession’s core principle that genuine psychoanalytic work is best transmitted through the practitioner’s own analysis, not academic study alone.
